Pop of Colour..

Hey guys! In the UK right now it's what you'd call summer, although the lack of sun may confuse you, but this does mean when it is warm you end up looking like a melting wax work as your makeup drips down your face. However, if your anything like me then the thought of wearing no makeup at all is a little daunting so I thought I'd show you a look I've been wearing which is long lasting and also has a pop of colour for the summer months!
This look is inspired by Demi Lovato when she was a judge on X Factor. I know it's quite an old image but when I found it I just loved it and really wanted to try it myself and since then I've fell in love.

For the look, as it's summer, you want to use a primer so your foundation won't budge however you don't want to look too matte so this loreal one is great as it has illumining particles in it. Then pick a foundation that has a good spf and one you can trust, sometimes you do have to pay a little more for a good foundation but it's worth it. For eyes, cream product are amazing as they stay on without creasing so I used this 17 metallic eyes one in wild bronze and applied it all over the eye before lining them with topshop liquid liner and adding a flick. For the waterline, this is where the colour comes into it, I used a blue metallic one from beautique in the first half and then barry m super soft crayon in 7. To finish the eyes I layered two mascaras to give volume and thickness as wearing false eyelashes in summer can be annoying and too much hassle. For eyebrows I used the HD brow kit in vamp and used the darker shades to fill in my brows and make them dark and thick like Demi's. Finally, I finished the faces using Sleeks face form kit to contour, highlight and apply blush as they're such gorgeous shades and perfect for summer before finally applying a coat of chanel lip gloss in 73 for a nude shimmer!

And this is the finished look. This look would work on any coloured eyes, I have blue and it still works well as it enhances the blue in your eyes but if you have green it also pulls out the blue tones and with brown it makes them look brighter so it's a look anyone could pull off. It would work for any skin tone also as it's not too much colour or you could even swap the blue for a different colour or miss it out all together for a really simple makeup look!

I hope you have enjoyed this summer look, if you recreate it then tweet me a picture or tag me in one on instagram!

Giants..?

Hey Guys! You may or may not know that this year commemorates the 100th anniversary since world war one and to remember the soldiers who went off to fight for us, Liverpool had an amazing event this weekend. Two years ago, two giants walked the streets of Liverpool for the anniversary of the Titanic and this year the little girl and her dog, Xolo, returned along with her grandmother.
All this may sound a little strange if you haven't seen or heard about it but a French creator designed these puppets that were up to 25 feet tall which came and paraded the streets of Liverpool and it was such an amazing thing to witness and something I'll never forget. If your wondering how they walked, there were many people, marionettes, who spend there day swinging off huge ropes to pull them down which moved the giants.. The effort that they put into it was amazing and I definitely wouldn't have ever been able to do it!! I know you can't experience it now but I wanted to share these memories with you by posting a few photos from this weekend...

Love/Hate

Hey Guys! One of my staple pieces of makeup has to be mascara. I think it can just complete a whole look or if you don't have time to do all your makeup then put on a coat or two of mascara and you instantly look more awake and ready for the day. The only bad thing is,  mascara can tend to dry up or you use it too quick which means your always buying a new one.
For quite a while, I have been obsessed with maybelline the falsies(like every other beauty guru) however when it ran out a few weeks back I decided it was time for a change. There are so many great drugstore mascara's out there that I haven't tried so I wanted to try something new but that lead to the trouble of deciding which one!  Lately, there have been so many new products being brought out by may different companies so this made it even more difficult. However, I've been seeing many mixed reviews on Loreal's Miss Manga mascara so I thought I'd give it a go and judge it for myself.

I've only been using it around 2 weeks but I can already tell why people like it and why some don't. The wand is really flexible which can be a plus to get right in the lashes but it is a little awkward and the wand is also quite small and narrow with varied length bristles which is ideal to get at smaller lashes but does mean it picks up quite a bit of product.

Although this does give a lot of volume, it takes a few coats to make your lashes look thick otherwise one coat leaves them looking quite sparse. Also, it does make your lashes clump together a bit and leaves them feeling brittle and quite plastic like which can be irritating for the eyes. When using it, I have found my eyes/lashes feeling quite sore towards the end of the day. It doesn't smudge though which is a plus and is easy to remove.
As you can see, my lashes do look quite voluminous which it claims to do so it does do what it advertises however it's not a product for everyone. I will use it as it's not terrible but it's just not one of my favourite products but I suppose you have to try to know!
