A few of My Favourite... Movies!

Hey Guys! Considering it was the Oscars on Sunday I thought this months monthly favourites should be my fav films! Now these kind of range from chick flicks to action films to musicals, a bit of everything, I don't have a certain genre that I prefer so these are a little all over the place but hey ho!
Also, these are in no particular order, they are all just films that I love! Plus, I've included a little snippet of each which is my favourite part of the film and my own rating out of 5 stars!

So first up we have Easy A which is probably the comedy film of the group. It's based around a girl named Olive(Emma Stone) who goes from being the nobody at school to the most talked about but not for the right reason. Emma was definitely the best person chosen to play Olive, she gives it her own little style and I love her in it!
Rating- 4/5

Onto another chic flick, this is definitely my most watched film. I constantly watch this when I can't decided what to watch or I'm in a bit of a rubbish mood; it's like a pick-me-up. I've watched it so many times I feel as though it is real- not a film. But I love how cute and romantic it is whilst also being realistic!
Rate- 5/5

Next up we have The Twilight Saga, I know that this is technically five films but I had to just include them all! If I had to pick a favourite it would be Breaking Dawn part 1 and 2! I absolutely love these films, they are a mix of typical chic flick mixed in with a little darkness and action but they are amazing! I absolutely love Billy in it, he has such a dry sense of humour which makes me laugh. So, if you have saw these films are you Team Edward or Jacob... I'm Jacob!
Rate- 4.5/5

Another film I am a huge fan of is Gatsby, I like the book, but I love how the film really brings it to life. The scenery, the costumes, the makeup and the hair all just add to the amount I love it, not forgetting that Leonardo Dicaprio is in it!! Also, I love the soundtrack to this film.. I'm definitely a fan of the whole 1920's American era!
Rate- 4.5/5

This next film is relatively new but from the first time seeing it I loved it, I prefer it to The Hunger Games and that used to be one of my favourites! It's quite an action filled film and a little confusing towards the beginning but by the end it all makes sense. The basic story line is that all these boys have been sent into a place surrounded by a maze and no matter what they do, they can't find their way out. That is until Thomas comes along..Personally, I can't wait for the next one to come out!
Rate- 4/5

This is the oldest film out of the group but is definitely in my top 3 favourites! Of course this is one of the best chic flicks ever and is definitely one of my favs. I even had to include two different snippets for my fav because you just can't leave out Swayze's most famous line.. This film has been one of my favourite films since I was around 9 and since then I must have watched it at least 100 times never mind listened to the soundtrack!
Rate- 5/5

From one amazing soundtrack to another, who doesn't love Mamma Mia?! This is probably counted as one of the most corniest films but it is definitely one of my favourites, in fact I'm actually going to see it live next week!! Without a doubt Julie Walters who plays Rosie is my favourite character. Out of all the characters, I get told I'm most like her which I'll take as a compliment!!
Rate- 4.5/5

Now to my saddest film out of them all.. The Fault in Our Stars. This was undoubtedly one of my favourite books and when it became I film I was running to the cinema to see it. Even though it is so upsetting, this is still one of my favourite films! It made me laugh, cry and 'aww' as it told the story of Hazel and Gus.. If you haven't seen this but you love a good film to make you weep then this is my recommend to you!
Rate- 4/5

And finally we have probably the most known movie series, Harry Potter. And yes I'm cheating again because this is more than one but you can't simply watch one Harry Potter, you must watch them all! Not many people know this but harry Potter is definitely one of my obsessions, it's like my guilty pleasure! I've actually been to the Warner Brother Studios before and I'm planning on going again in April so if I do, and use would like it, I will do a blog post about it because it is truly magical there! And the reason I chose that scene, out of the thousands it could be, was because I love Ron and Hermoine relationship!
Rate- 5/5

So they are my favourite films! As you can see, I haven't included any Disney films because that is a whole different story which I thought I would leave for another post otherwise you'll be here all day as I ramble on!

New Hair..

Hey Guys! So I decided to be a bit of a daredevil this week(well in my opinion it was daring..) and get my hair chopped short! I've been short before but it was a bit of a disaster and I hated it however back then I was younger, I had blonde hair and I wasn't the best at explaining what I wanted. So this time I went in with several images and an accurate explanation because I wasn't going through all that trouble of hating it and having to grow it out again!

My hair originally was this length and didn't really have any layers. My so called curtain style fringe had grew out completely and overall my hair was just a bit lifeless. The ends were completely dead from dying it and using heat products and it just didn't really have any volume.

5 and 1/2 inches later and it was like this! A medium length, choppy bob. Before it was even dried you could see how better the condition of my hair was and it felt so much thicker. Even though it was a lot of hair taken off it isn't too short, I basically asked for a Kylie Jenner length(I'll put some of the images I showed her below for inspiration.) Personally, I think it looks so much better and has a lot more volume and life to it. I'm definitely happy with it and it's so much easier to style and dry now, it takes a fraction of the time!

Hopefully, if your like me and just needed that boost to get your hair cut, then maybe this post will give you that little boost. It might be scary the initial thought but honestly I'm sure you'll love it afterwards. The girl who done mine was mobile but I'd say my top tip for picking a hairdresser is choose one you can trust or one who's done this style cut before. My other top tip is be clear with what you want, they can't read your mind so you have to be explain exactly what you want or show them some images! These are the images I used to show her what I wanted, any image that is really clear will be useful!

Lip Lacquer Swatches

Hey Guys! Last week I done a haul from Makeup Revolution which you can read here and in it I said I would do a separate post with swatches and a review of the Lava Lips so here is that post!
So there are 5 different shades ranging from nude to red. The formula is quite thick but they're not too sticky, they are extremely pigmented though! All the photos in this post are just one layer of the lacquer so you could easily layer it for a more intense look. They are really similar to the Too Faced Melted Lacquers but more affordable and there aren't as many colours. The only thing I don't like about these is the fact the shade number/name is not on the actual product.
Sorry for the poor quality photo, this is without the flash
And this is with the flash on
So as you can see the colours are really pigmented and look more like a lipstick rather than a lipgloss. Even though there are only 5 colours, they are quite varied shades. Some are more wearable than others but I do love all 5 colours!

I know many people hate this type of applicator for hygiene reasons as it is like a small sponge on the end of the lip lacquer but I prefer it as  I find it a lot easier to apply the colour and it distributes the colour evenly instead of too much coming out at once

First up we have 'Forgiven; which is nude with brown undertones. This is probably my favourite of the shades because I love this colour. It is like a glossy version of MAC's Velvet Teddy.

Then we have 'Firestorm' which is like a deep red with pink undertones. I think this is a gorgeous colour for Autumn Winter if you don't want to go for a berry but you also don't want a bright red.

Next is 'Unleash' which is a really summery shade. It is a bright coral orange and I'd imagine this would look gorgeous on tanned skin in the summer or on holiday!

Then we have 'Shockwave' which is bright purpley pink with blue undertones. This colour reminds me of MAC's Amplified but more pink.

Finally, we have 'Tremor' which is like baby everyday pink colour. This is probably the most wearable out of the shades as it would go with anything.

And that is them all, I really like these lip lacquers and I hope they add more shades to the collection because for the price they are especially good! I wore the red shade the other day and it stayed on pretty much all day, and was actually quite hard to get off. When I done the swatches on my arm I found the colours quite tough to remove so they do have stay power!

Makeup Revolution Haul

Hey guys! This week I thought I'd do a haul for you guys because last week I ordered some products from Makeup Revolution. If you haven't heard of Makeup Revolution they're a brand sold in superdrug and also online who do really good quality makeup but for cheap so you don't have to break the bank. They do absolutely everything you'll need from primers and foundation to eyeshadow palettes and mascara. The great thing about them too is that most of their products are dupes of high end products but they still live up to the same quality. I've had an eyeshadow and blush palette from them which I love(I have swatches for it here) but I wanted to try out some other stuff. So I bought another palette but this one is huge, 5 of their new lip lacquers and two pigments.

So this is the 144 eyeshadow palette which ranges from some really pretty natural colours to eye popping bright colours. The colours are so pigmented and I wouldn't say they're very powdery, they are more of a satin finish. When I bought this is was half price so I only paid £10 for the palette instead of £20.. Amazing I know! I was going to swatch these but there is just far too many colours so I will swatch a few and post a picture on my twitter so if you want to see my links are below!

Next I purchased the full collection of these Lip Lacquers called Lip Lavas. I ended up getting all 5 shades because they worked out around £12 for them all! I wanted to try these because I've heard people say they are really similar to the too faced melted lip lacquers which I wanted to try but these are so much cheaper. I've decided to do a whole blog post with lip swatches and a review for these saves this post being really long so that will be up Sunday hopefully!

Finally, I purchased these two pigments in the shades Agonise which is a shimmery copper colour and Etiquette which is a pearly pink colour and probably my favourite of the two. These are supposed to be similar to MAC pigments which they are although they are more powdery instead of shimmery but for £1 you can't go wrong!

And that is everything! I honestly, really recommend this brand for anyone who loves trying different makeup or if your wanting to buy something from the high end but aren't too sure then I'd say check these out first and see if they do anything similar. This isn't a sponsored post at all but just my opinion because people would probably see the price and avoid this brand but it is great!
Any product listed can be found from either their website here or in superdrugs store or online.
